While every AMS member school operates independently of our organization, by joining, it becomes a part of the larger Montessori community and can take advantage of the services we offer. About the School
Since 2000, CHMS has provided young learners with a high-quality Montessori education in a safe, caring, fun, and stimulating environment that honors the unique talents of each child and nurtures a lifelong love of learning. CHMS’s core values are the embodiment of its mission. At CHMS, we live our core values every day: practicing safety, strengthening community, adhering to Montessori principles, and building character. In 2024, CHMS opened a second campus in the neighboring community, called Alexandria.
CHMS’s Alexandria campus is located in the Del Ray community at Mt. Vernon and Commonwealth Avenues. We serve children aged 2–6, also across toddler and preschool classrooms. Our Alexandria location includes five classrooms across two small buildings that are connected by a nature focused fenced in playground. We are fortunate to be part of the tight knit Del Ray community.
CHMS Montessori Guides are a qualified, diverse group of professional educators who draw on Montessori credential training, classroom experience, and a commitment to professional growth. CHMS graduates are equipped with tools and lessons for their next educational chapter. CHMS graduates who enter Kindergarten and 1st grade are often seen as leaders, student helpers, and peacemakers. Early childhood education at CHMS goes beyond creating a strong academic foundation, to develop proactive, empathetic, and prosocial graduates prepared for the future.
