District Montessori

District Montessori is a 501(c)(3) school committed to enriching the lives of children and to supporting parents through Montessori. Our mission is to create a respectful and joyful educational environment for children to explore freely using the Montessori method of instruction; to support and empower parents in our community; and to help families nurture and strengthen beneficial habits during the formative early childhood years. We believe all children have unlimited potential, and we nurture this potential by offering quality Montessori programs that support each child’s natural development and love of learning. We serve families with children between the ages of 16 months and 6 years old and we offer flexibility for families with half-day, full-day, and extended day options. Our school is licensed as a childcare facility by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) in the District of Columbia. To increase affordability, we work in partnership with Child Care Aware of America and Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood to provide tuition assistance to eligible families working in a branch of the military. Our school accepts subsidy vouchers and participates in the OSSE Capital Quality program to provide equitable access to high-quality Montessori classrooms for all children. We are on the AMS Pathway to Continuous Improvement, working toward the goal of accreditation by AMS.
