Connect. Reflect. Lead Together.

Thoughtful Leadership Begins in Community

Leading a Montessori school is deeply meaningful work, but it can also be one of the most complex and demanding roles in education. The Head of School Leadership Collective brings Montessori leaders together in thoughtfully facilitated cohorts to engage in meaningful dialogue, explore shared challenges, and strengthen their leadership alongside peers who understand the work.

Whether you are navigating staffing, enrollment, governance, finance, or supporting your faculty, the Leadership Collective provides a trusted space to reflect, learn, and grow in community.

Meaningful Dialogue

Our conversations are designed around shared inquiry, not presentations. The monthly toolkit provides a starting point, but the richest learning comes through thoughtful discussion and the collective wisdom of the group.

Intentional and contextualized cohorts

Cohorts are intentionally organized by school type and leadership context, creating relevant conversations and lasting professional relationships with peers who understand the unique realities of Montessori leadership.

Practical Leadership learning

Each month explores a topic that matters to school leaders, including staffing, admissions, finance, governance, teaching and learning, professional development, and school operations. Participants leave each meeting with new perspectives, practical ideas, and renewed confidence for the work ahead.

“Leadership can sometimes feel isolating, so having a space to share perspectives, learn from one another, and recognize that many of us are navigating similar challenges has been especially meaningful.”
“The most valuable part has been the connection. The topics give us a place to start, but hearing how other Heads of School approach the same challenges makes the conversations so much richer than reading the material alone.”
“It was easy to find common ground and people to lean on. We shared challenges, celebrated successes, laughed together, and genuinely looked forward to our meetings.”

The Leadership Collective is guided by experienced Montessori leaders who serve as AMS Ambassadors. They prepare each month’s dialogue, cultivate meaningful conversation, and create welcoming spaces where every participant can contribute, reflect, and grow.

As part of AMS’s commitment to deeply supporting Montessori school leaders, every Head of School at an AMS Member School is automatically placed into a Leadership Collective cohort.

Once your school’s membership is active, simply log in to your AMS/Forj account to:

  • Meet your AMS Ambassador
  • Find your cohort and meeting schedule
  • Access monthly resources and discussion materials
  • Connect with fellow Montessori Heads of School

Whether you’re joining your first conversation or reconnecting with your cohort, we’re excited to welcome you into this community of practice.
