AMS is excited to introduce Montessori Action Research Symposium (MARS).

Are you passionate about the future of Montessori education? Do you want to contribute to the growth and development of Montessori schools and teacher education programs? If so, we invite you to apply to participate in this important and exciting opportunity.

MARS encourages research and supports action research in schools and teacher education programs. This is a pivotal time for Montessori education, and this symposium aims to foster a community of researchers, educators, and enthusiasts committed to advancing the field through thoughtful research and action.

MARS will take place at the University of Connecticut.

Accepted participants receive:

  • Free participation for MARS
  • Lunch and dinner during portions of the event
  • Up to $600 in travel credit
  • Application Submission Deadline: March 15, 2024, 11:59 PM (ET)
  • Notification of Acceptance: April 2024
  • Airfare Purchased and Submitted by: May 22, 2024 

AMS is looking for candidates for the program who meet the following criteria:

  • Able to commit to completing a publishable year-long action research project
  • Strong interest and curiosity in Montessori classroom practices, learner outcomes, and other impactful topics

Admissions will ensure a diversity of perspectives and experiences both in Montessori schools and teacher education programs.
