El niño pequeño ama conectar con sus padres y los libros brindan la oportunidad para pasar tiempo de calidad en familia. Lo que educadores y padres debemos entender es que en la filosofía Montessori, los niños de cero a seis años no distinguen entre la realidad y la fantasía. Es por este motivo que los cuentos deben estar inspirados en la vida real y en acontecimientos cotidianos, alejándose de toda fantasía.
Los cuentos infantiles en esta primera etapa de desarrollo Montessori deben acercarse más a la realidad ya que así ayudan al niño/a a comprender mejor el mundo que le rodea. ¿Cuáles son los beneficios? Estos cuentos ayudarán a crear seguridad en los niños/as y les ayudará a ordenar y entender mejor sus experiencias reales y cotidianas que, a su vez, crean conexiones neuronales y les ayuda a su orden mental.
En los cuentos que siguen la pedagogía Montessori, habrán personajes que realizan cosas habituales, cotidianas y muy cercanas a la realidad de los niños/as. Así por ejemplo, no habrán animales humanizados que hablan, que se visten como nosotros o que realizan acciones propias de las personas.

Children’s Books with a Montessori Focus
According to Montessori pedagogy, we know—and want other educators and families to understand—that children ages 0 – 6 years old do not distinguish between reality and fantasy. For this reason, we should choose children’s books and stories that are inspired by real life and daily events—moving away from all fantasy.
Children’s stories in this first stage of Montessori development should emulate reality as they help the child to better understand the world around them. What are the benefits? These stories will help create safety in children and will help them better understand their experiences. This, in turn, creates neural connections and helps them establish their mental order.
The story lines that follow the Montessori pedagogy, include characters that carry out habitual, everyday experiences that are closely related to the reality of children. For example, there will not be humanized animals that speak and dress like humans or who perform human actions.
