From the Organization

Richmond Montessori School is a premier Montessori community, inspiring academic excellence and nurturing human potential. Richmond Montessori School provides a nurturing, hands-on Montessori education for children from 16 months through 8th grade, cultivating independent, curious learners and fostering socio-emotional growth within a supportive community.
At RMS, our strategic priorities reflect our deep commitment to the Montessori philosophy and our mission to nurture curious, capable, and compassionate learners.
We are focused on reinforcing a school culture that fully embodies the Montessori ethos—where belonging, purpose, and joy are shared values among students, faculty, and families. Our learning environments are designed to promote independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
To ensure we can continue to deliver an authentic Montessori experience for generations to come, we are committed to remaining financially sound and sustainable. This stewardship allows us to serve current and future students with integrity and fidelity to our mission.
As our school grows, we are enhancing our campus infrastructure to support the evolving needs of our students and faculty. Purposeful, well-designed indoor and outdoor learning spaces are essential to the Montessori approach and integral to our vision for the future.
We also aspire to be a thought leader in Montessori education—advancing awareness and understanding of our pedagogy within the Richmond community and beyond. We aim to elevate our voice, share our practices, and contribute meaningfully to the field of education.
Our teachers are at the heart of our mission. By investing in their growth and well-being, we create a thriving environment where both students and educators are inspired to pursue excellence in teaching and learning.
Finally, we are deepening our commitment to fostering an inclusive culture. Guided by the Montessori principles of mutual respect, global awareness, and interconnectedness, we strive to build a compassionate and welcoming community where every individual is seen, heard, and valued.
These priorities guide our work and reflect our promise to provide a transformative educational experience rooted in the Montessori tradition.
