Heads of School Leadership Collective
Ambassador Application
The Heads of School Leadership Collective is a new professional circle, built for growth, connection, and support.
What is the Heads of School Leadership Collective?
Over the past year, we’ve engaged in thoughtful conversations with leaders from a wide range of school types and sizes. A consistent theme has emerged: a strong desire for deeper connection and collaboration among those navigating similar leadership paths.
In response, we launched a pilot program: the Heads of School Leadership Collective. This online cohort brings together groups of 20 heads of schools with shared characteristics for monthly conversations on the unique challenges and opportunities of Montessori leadership. Based on the success of this pilot, we’re excited to expand the Collective in the coming year and open participation to all heads of AMS member schools. This new offering adds another meaningful layer of support and connection for our leadership community.
What role do Ambassadors play?
Each conversation is grounded in Montessori values, with support, not pressure. That’s where the Ambassador role comes in. You’ll disperse leadership resource kits designed to spark dialogue around essential topics like enrollment, teacher recruitment, and governance. Your group may even choose to collaborate on a simple shared project, like a blog post or conference idea.
Ambassadors will be responsible for:
- Fostering consistent engagement by using your facilitation skills to create a welcoming, connected space—where no school leader feels siloed or alone
- Preparing for each session by reviewing the guiding questions and content in advance (provided by AMS; no need for content creation on your end)
- Checking in weekly on AMS Connect to keep conversations going and encourage resource sharing
- Fostering consistent engagement by using your facilitation skills to create a welcoming, connected space—where no school leader feels siloed or alone
