We are honored to announce the establishment of the Beth Holladay Endowment Fund, created by Jim Holladay through a $200,000 gift to support teacher education scholarships at AMS-affiliated Teacher Education Programs.
This generous gift honors Jim’s wife, Beth Holladay, an AMS-credentialed Early Childhood (2.5-6), in Early Elementary I (6-9) and National Board Certified Early Childhood (3-8) Montessori teacher. Beth taught in private AMS Montessori programs for six years and in a public Montessori program for 17 years. Beth, whose life and work reflected a deep commitment to children, learning, and the Montessori philosophy. Beth passed away in October 2025, and this fund ensures that her legacy will live on through future generations of Montessori educators.
Beth’s Montessori journey was rooted in care, creativity, and connection, and those who knew her remember her as “inspiring, patient and kind.” Her love of storytelling, science, and music infused her teaching, shaping and strengthening her connections with the children, families, and other educators around her. A shared love of music between Beth and Jim remained a guiding thread through the challenges of later years, helping Beth maintain the same spirit of resilience, joy, and presence that she brought to her work as an educator.
Through the Beth Holladay Endowment Fund, aspiring Montessori teachers will receive meaningful financial support to pursue their training, opening doors for passionate educators and strengthening Montessori communities for years to come. Jim’s generosity reflects both a profound personal tribute and a lasting investment in the future of Montessori education.
We are deeply grateful to Jim and Beth for this extraordinary gift and for sharing their story with our community.
With gratitude to the Holladay family,
AMS Leadership
