We understand the value of being able to offer high-quality online education to adult learners.

AMS is proud to provide teacher education programs with access to Canvas, a learning management system for online classes. We also offer a variety of educational opportunities to learn how to design and teach online and to learn how to use Canvas through our Online Onboard class offerings. These classes are designed to support different areas related to online learning and do not have a required sequence.

This four-week, primarily asynchronous course, focuses on online class delivery strategies. Learn how to leverage AMS’s online learning management system, Canvas, to create a strong instructor presence, efficiently and creatively manage assignment feedback, and incorporate tools like Zoom and Padlet to enhance engagement and community during online sessions.

By the end of this experience, you’ll be equipped with strategies and resources for providing quality feedback through Canvas, engaging learners in virtual learning environments, and effectively managing your time as an online facilitator. Come practice your online teaching skills as you develop your own art of online delivery!

If you are new to Canvas, please complete the free/self-paced Introduction to Designing Online Classes in Canvas course before your Art of Online Delivery cohort begins.

A certificate of AMS Professional Development Hours will be emailed upon completion. An opportunity to purchase a CEU certificate for 1.2 CEUs will also be made available upon completion of the class at a cost of $28.

For information about Canvas, to request a Canvas sub-account for your TEP, or for questions about our learning opportunities contact our professional development team at PD@amshq.org.
