The American Montessori Society invites proposals for research presentations at The Montessori Event 2026. Share your scholarship and classroom-based research inquiry with the world’s largest gathering of Montessori educators and contribute to a global culture of research, equity, and innovation.
Focus Areas
We welcome studies and action research related to Montessori education, especially in:
- Teaching & Learning – literacy, numeracy, STEM, neurodiversity, assessment
- Whole-Child & Belonging – SEL, identity, restorative practices, equity
- Leadership & Systems – teacher retention, coaching, governance, enrollment
- Innovation & Global Lens – technology, AI, outdoor learning, sustainability, global competence
- Teacher Education & Policy – mentorship, pathways, accreditation
Formats
- Paper (20 min + Q&A)
- Action Research Brief (10 min)
- Symposium (60 min, 3–4 papers)
- Workshop (60 min, interactive)
- Lightning Talk (7 min)
Submission Requirements
- Abstract (≤ 500 words): purpose, methods, findings/expected findings, implications
- 3–5 keywords, presenter bios (75–100 words each)
- IRB/ethics status
