New School Montessori is fully accredited with the American Montessori Society and licensed through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State Board of Private Academic Schools. It also offers an Extended Care program licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services. New School Montessori’s location in Lancaster City is easily accessible for Lancaster City residents and others throughout the region by way of district busing, private, or public transportation. Many school families also walk or bike from surrounding neighborhoods.
Dr. Maria Montessori's philosophy includes a clear commitment to diversity and inclusion within its student, staff, and overarching school community as she sought to educate Italy's most vulnerable students. These ideals ground New School Montessori's program and philosophy, as the school aims to educate children in all areas of development, including social, emotional, physical, and intellectual. Peace education and racial justice are integral to achieving these goals, and the school works to educate students in multi-age classrooms that reflect the diversity of the larger world.
