The Journal of Montessori Research is an online, biannual publication of the American Montessori Society. Double-blind and peer-reviewed, the journal advances knowledge of Montessori education through empirical research studies and critical reviews of the literature. All content is publicly available in an open-access forum.
The content is licensed through the Creative Commons protocols for open access content at the Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) level, which allows others to remix, tweak, and build upon work non-commercially, and although all new works must acknowledge the original source and be non-commercial, they do not have to license their derivative works on the same terms.
The Journal of Montessori Research is listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and has received the organization’s Seal. DOAJ is a community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals. The DOAJ Seal is a mark of certification for open access journals, awarded by DOAJ to journals that achieve a high level of openness and adhere to best practice and high publishing standards.

Submissions are invited from diverse disciplines and a range of research paradigms that contribute to scholarship for the Montessori community as well as the broader field of education. Before submitting an article, please review the submission guidelines.
