About the School

New School Montessori is a private, independent, Montessori school serving children ages infant through eighth grade. Our campuses span two locations; one in historic Lancaster City and the other in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania. We provide a nurturing atmosphere that enables children to develop a love of learning. Our commitment is to children. We focus on the whole child by recognizing each child’s individual needs. Our staff appreciates differences in children and nurtures their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development in a respectful and caring environment. We guide students to challenge and develop themselves and to value learning as an exciting part of life. Inspired by the work of Dr. Maria Montessori, we believe that children have an innate ability to learn from their surroundings. Our environment encourages students to explore, question, and perfect their skills. Classroom materials designed by Dr. Montessori capture the children’s natural curiosity, and caring, committed teachers use that spark of interest to guide their growth and learning into skill and competence. The New School Montessori is fully accredited with the American Montessori Society (AMS), licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State Board of Private Academic Schools, and accredited by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS). Our Extended Care Program is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services.
