Bergen-Lafayette Montessori School

Bergen-Lafayette Montessori School (BLMS) is an independent Montessori school in Jersey City, New Jersey, serving children from infancy through elementary school. Founded with a commitment to making authentic Montessori education accessible to a diverse community of children and families, BLMS offers small, child-centered learning environments grounded in Montessori philosophy and practice. Our program supports children’s independence, curiosity, concentration, and love of learning while honoring each child’s individual development. Spanish is integrated throughout the school as part of our dual-language approach, and our intentionally diverse community reflects the families and neighborhoods we serve. BLMS is especially committed to expanding access to Montessori education for families for whom independent-school tuition might otherwise be prohibitive. We believe high-quality Montessori education should be available to children from a broad range of backgrounds and that schools are strongest when they are deeply connected to their communities.
