Math begins long before children start counting. This workshop will review basic mathematical concepts for young children, including number sense, measurement, and representation. You’ll discover how to encourage conceptual thinking that lays a foundation for future learning through numerous activities for all curricular areas of the Toddler classroom, and even on the playground.

Erin Conway, MEd, is head of school at Montessori Cottage, in Fallshington, PA, director of Gladwyne Montessori Teacher Education Program, in Gladwyne, PA, adjunct professor at Chestnut Hill College, in Philadelphia, PA, and a teacher educator at Princeton Center Teacher Education, in Princeton, NJ.
