Montessori Credential Course Levels
No matter which developmental stage you are most drawn toward, infancy through adolescence, AMS has you covered! AMS issues Montessori credentials to successful graduates of AMS-affiliated TEPs.
We award credentials at the following levels:
| • Infant & Toddler (birth–age 3) | • Secondary I (ages 12–15) |
| • Early Childhood (ages 2 1/2–6) | • Secondary I-II (ages 12–18) |
| • Elementary I (ages 6–9) | • Administrator |
| • Elementary I–II (ages 6 –12) | • Montessori Inclusion Endorsement (MIE) |

Credential Courses and Endorsements
AMS Credential Academy or Montessori Inclusion Endorsement (MIE)
To earn an AMS credential or Montessori Inclusion Endorsement (MIE) through an AMS-affiliated teacher education program, you must have:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, or
- An equivalent degree as determined by a recognized credential evaluation service.
- Official documentation in the form of an original college/university transcript.
Associated Credential
To earn an Associate credential you must have:
- A high school diploma, GED, or international equivalent, and
- Do not have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent),
The Associate credential is available only at the:
- Infant & Toddler level
- Early Childhood level
How Long Will It Take?
Earning an AMS credential typically takes 1–2 years, involving in-person or blended coursework, including discussions, hands-on activities, and a yearlong practicum. Experienced mentors will guide you throughout your practicum, which can occur at your current Montessori school if employed there.
