Global Montessori Educators Institute (GMEI) prepares thoughtful, confident, and highly skilled Montessori educators through flexible, relationship-centered teacher education. Located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, GMEI offers blended programs at the Infant & Toddler, Early Childhood, Elementary I, and Elementary I–II levels. GMEI’s hybrid model is designed for today’s adult learner. The academic phase begins with online learning through Canvas, including recorded presentations, interactive instruction, practical assignments, and meaningful cohort discussion. Adult learners then come together for an intensive summer In-Residence experience at the Montessori School of Waukesha campus. This hands-on experience builds upon the online coursework, deepens relationships within the cohort, and provides extensive opportunities to practice with Montessori materials under the guidance of experienced instructors. Following the academic phase, adult learners complete a supervised practicum in an approved Montessori environment, where they apply their learning with children and receive ongoing guidance, observation, and feedback. Throughout the program, GMEI emphasizes Montessori philosophy, strong instructional practice, reflective professional growth, and respect for the individual needs and experiences of adult learners. GMEI is uniquely integrated with Montessori School of Waukesha, its lab school, which has served children and families since 1964. Its fully equipped environments provide adult learners with authentic opportunities for observation, material practice, and connection to an established Montessori school community. Global Montessori Educators Institute holds full accreditation from the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) for its Infant & Toddler, Early Childhood, Elementary I, and Elementary I–II course levels and is affiliated with the American Montessori Society.
