Applications Sought for AMS Board of Directors
September 1, 2021—If you are an energetic and engaged member of the AMS community and would like to deepen your commitment and involvement, we invite you to apply for our board of directors. As a director, you would be part of a working board that devotes substantial time to seeing through projects and policies for the betterment of AMS and the global Montessori community. You would also be helping to chart the course of AMS—the world’s largest and most influential Montessori organization.

Submit a Workshop Proposal for The Montessori Event 2022
MAY 11, 2021—We are thrilled to be opening our Call for Proposals for The Montessori Event, taking place March 17 - 20, 2022, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN. The submission deadline for workshop proposals is Sunday, June 6.
Announcing the AMS 2022 Living Legacy: Juliet King, EdD
APRIL 7, 2021—Juliet has spent over 5 decades working as a teacher, teacher’s union steward, school administrator, and community leader in South Florida. Throughout this illustrious career, her leadership has garnered respect and united teachers from varied racial and ethnic backgrounds to work toward the common goal of benefiting all students.
AMS Statement on the Shootings in Atlanta
MARCH 19, 2021—The American Montessori Society mourns the tragic and senseless loss of 8 people in shootings in Atlanta, Georgia, on Wednesday. Although the motivation for the crime is unknown, this vicious act of violence, regardless of motivation, is abhorrent. Brutality, regardless of cause, has no place in our society and in our world.
