"When we speak of peace, we do not mean a partial truce between separate nations, but a permanent way of life for all [mankind]." —Maria Montessori

In order to fully understand peace, we must first be willing to embrace social justice. We will embark on the process of understanding ourselves and our students through the lens of Anti-Bias Education: an active approach to maintaining a culturally responsive environment for all learners.

This webinar will introduce you to the 4 goals of Anti-Bias Education for children and the 5 goals for adults. These goals will help the student challenge her own prejudices and biases, and grow into a more thoughtful and peaceful citizen. Resources and examples will be given and discussed throughout the webinar to promote further understanding of each goal. You’ll be presented with ways to gain further insight into what it means to be an Anti-Biased Montessorian, and tools to help you develop personal and institutional goals to support positive change within your community. We will also discuss the latest activity in the Montessori Social Justice movement and ways to support the community.
