About the School

Peaceful Pathways Montessori Academy, Inc. (P.P.M.A.) was founded in August 2004 by owners Shawna and Brian Watkins. The Christian Montessori preschool and kindergarten classroom was the beginning of Shawna’s larger dream of a preschool – elementary academy to be located on a large rural piece of property between the communities of Yorkville and Oswego, Illinois. The aim of Peaceful Pathways Montessori is to nurture and assist children as they develop confidence and prepare for life. “The education of a young child does not aim at preparing him for school, but for life.”
- Maria Montessori. Peaceful Pathways Montessori was established as a Montessori school fully dedicated to those whom it was meant to serve – the children. P.P.M.A. is a Christian Montessori school that is located on seven acres along State Route 71 between the towns of Yorkville and Oswego. It became a reality due in large part to the generosity of friends and family who financially supported the start-up costs. For sixteen years, Peaceful Pathways Montessori Academy has maintained that vision and provided a quality educational experience for area families.
