Announcing the AMS Executive Director Search Committee

UPDATED: May 19, 2020

MARCH 25, 2020

Dear AMS Community,

The American Montessori Society is embarking on a search for a new executive director. This is a position that Richard A. Ungerer has held in an interim capacity since February 1, 2020.

The Executive Committee of the AMS Board of Directors has created an Executive Director Search Committee that will be guiding us through the process. We believe the committee is inclusive, diverse, and representative of the AMS community at large, and will bring a rich variety of perspectives.

The members are: Robyn Breiman (chair), Geoffrey Bishop, Marie Conti, Jeff Covello, Amira Mogaji, Candace Proctor, and Debbie Senoff-Langford. You can read more about them below.

Along with my board colleagues, I am excited about the leadership the right candidate will bring to AMS, and the opportunities that will unfold for the organization, as well as for our community. It is my pleasure to invite each of you to be part of the journey.

We will share a copy of the Opportunity Statement for the new executive director when it is finalized.
