Conference Access Details

Attendees with Special Needs

AMS conference sessions are held in wheelchair-accessible facilities. If you, or someone you are registering, may need other special services in order to participate in conference sessions, e-mail Gregory Jones, AMS senior director of operations & human resources, before registering, and no later than January 11, 2013.

While we are committed to making our conference sessions as accessible as possible, AMS cannot guarantee that requested services will be available. We will assess the service needs and determine whether they can be reasonably accommodated but make no representation that we will provide or pay for requested services.

Event Access

To access AMS 2013 Annual Conference events including workshops, keynote addresses, networking events, and receptions, as well as the Exhibit Hall, individuals must be officially registered conference attendees and they must wear their name tags throughout the conference; only those with name tags will be permitted entry. AMS offers several registration options, including a full-conference fee, a 1-day fee (Friday and/or Saturday) and a half-day fee (Sunday).

If you are (or represent) a non-U.S. citizen who needs a visa in order to travel to the conference from a country outside the United States, we are here to help!

For each prospective attendee, e-mail the following information to us and we will prepare a letter of invitation that you may deliver to the appropriate consulate. We will send the letter to you within 2 business days of your request.

  • Name of the participant (as it appears on the passport or government-issued ID)
  • Title and.or organization affiliation (if any) of the particpant
  • AMS member ID (if AMS member)
  • Nation of citizenship

If the participant is living in a country with several U.S. consulate offices (such as China, Canada, etc.), it is helpful if you provide the city and province of the participant, so that we can address the letter to the nearest consulate office.
