Overview

This webinar will share research related to Montessori education to help you understand how to leverage this evidence to inform your constituents. Demand for data and research to support the proliferation of Montessori principles and practices is growing quickly, as is research from mainstream education supporting Montessori practices. We’ll talk about how to make this data work for you in your efforts to champion Montessori—whether to parents, future Montessori educators, or public policy wonks.

Topics covered to include:

  • Research on Montessori outcomes
  • Recent studies about Montessori practices
  • Results from studies from outside the field of Montessori education that support Montessori practices

Handouts will be made available along with references.

Learner Outcomes

  • Understand the current landscape of Montessori research.
  • Gain the background on Montessori research to share with constituents.
  • Recognize that resources exist to stay abreast of new developments in Montessori research.

Angela K. Murray, PhD, is an assistant research professor at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, AMS senior researcher & coordinator, and editor of the Journal of Montessori Research.
