Movement Matters! A Physical Education Curriculum for Purposeful Activity in the Classroom

Thursday, March 22 4:00 PM - 5:15 PM

Presenter: Melani Alexander Fuchs

Target Audience: Early Childhood, Elementary I

This interactive workshop will give you practical ideas and methods to implement gross-motor movement materials in your classroom by creating a Movement Shelf for children’s independent practice of fundamental physical challenges. We’ll also get moving with lively, large-group activities that support the development and mastery of movement skills in community with others. You’ll leave with a deepened understanding of the close relationship between movement and cognition as you explore various ways to normalize movement practices in and out of the classroom.
