Target Audience: Elementary I, Elementary II, Secondary I

This presentation of character-building ideas and lessons will address common issues such as peer pressure, bullying, feeling left out, and fitting in. Come explore group activities that promote intra- and interpersonal skills, and learn how to define and teach good character traits, design service and leadership activities that promote action, and encourage meaningful dialogue about concerns like social media use.

Gwen Shangle, MEd, is director of educational programs at Princeton Montessori School and director of Princeton Center Teacher Education, both in Princeton, NJ. AMS-credentialed (Elementary I–II).
