Conference Access Details

AMS will make every effort to create a safe and comfortable conference experience for all attendees.

Attendees with Special Needs

Sessions are held in wheelchair-accessible facilities. If you need other services in order to participate in conference sessions, e-mail Carol Starmack, AMS associate executive director, before registering, and no later than January 17, 2014.

While we are committed to making our conference sessions as accessible as possible, AMS cannot guarantee that requested services will be available. We will assess the service needs and determine whether they can be reasonably accommodated but make no representation that we will provide or pay for requested services.

Event Access

To access AMS 2014 Annual Conference events including workshops, keynote addresses, networking events, and receptions, as well as the Exhibit Hall, individuals must be officially registered conference attendees and they must wear their name tags throughout the conference; only those with name tags will be permitted entry.

Children under 18

The AMS 2014 Annual Conference is an event for adults passionate about the education of children. Due to the professional nature of the program, as well as for safety reasons, children under the age of 18, including infants and toddlers either handheld or in carriers, are not permitted in the Exhibit Hall or any conference events such as workshops, keynote presentations, and receptions. Children may distract speakers or presenters, disrupt other attendees, and/or adversely impact the quality of audio recordings of the events. We ask all presenters and attendees to honor this policy, as we strive to create the optimal conference experience.

Visas

For each prospective attendee who needs a visa in order to travel to Dallas, e-mail the following information to us and we will prepare a letter of invitation that you may deliver to the appropriate consulate. We will send the letter to you within 4 business days of your providing the following information:

  • Name of the participant (as it appears on the passport or government-issued ID)
  • Title and organization affiliation (if any) of the participant
  • AMS member ID (if AMS member)
  • Nation of citizenship
  • The U.S. consulate office to which you would like the letter addressed.
