AMS to Help Chinese Society of Education Develop Montessori Standards

April 20, 2015. The American Montessori Society has entered into a formal relationship with the Chinese Society of Education to help develop Chinese standards of quality Montessori Early Childhood education, based on AMS’s Montessori school accreditation process and standards. The goal is to aid in the development and proliferation of excellent Montessori Early Childhood programs in that country.
An agreement-signing ceremony took place April 10, 2015, at the Beijing International Hotel in Beijing, China.
Yang Nianlu, general secretary of the Chinese Society of Education, and Richard Ungerer, executive director of the American Montessori Society, sign the agreement for a project to develop standards of quality Montessori Early Childhood education for China.
The opening presentation was delivered by Binglin Zhong, president of the CSE and former president of Beijing Normal University. Representing the American Montessori Society was executive director Richard A. Ungerer, who traveled to Beijing from AMS headquarters in New York City.
Numerous other prestigious members of the Chinese education community were also in attendance.
