AMS is seeking nominations for its annual Living Legacy award now through November 1, 2013. We encourage our members to nominate an outstanding Montessori educator or advocate who has shown dedication and leadership to our society and larger Montessori community.
The AMS Living Legacy formally pays tribute to an individual whose volunteerism and professional work have had a significant impact on Montessori education. In addition to bestowing this award on a deserving educator, donations in honor of the Living Legacy support the granting of scholarships to aspiring Montessori educators at AMS-affiliated teacher education programs.
The person selected for the 2015 Living Legacy will be invited to share his or her experience in Montessori education and vision for its future at our Annual Conference in Philadelphia, March 12 – 15, 2015.
The Living Legacy Nomination Committee will review all nominations and make a recommendation to the AMS Board of Directors, who will make the final selection. The 2015 Living Legacy will be announced during the Annual Meeting at the AMS 2014 Annual Conference.
Since 1993, AMS has awarded $485,000 to 250 aspiring Montessori teachers in honor of the exceptional individuals chosen as Living Legacies.
