AMS and AMI are seeking a consultant to work part-time as a public policy coordinator with the Montessori Public Policy Committee as we expand our advocacy work.
In this role, the consultant will identify and monitor existing and emerging public policy issues at the federal, state, and local level that have an impact on Montessori education. The coordinator will inform the organizations’ members about policy issues, working closely with state coalition representatives to advance their work, and with committee members and volunteers to coordinate their work. S/he will identify, organize and distribute documents as well as prepare overviews of important topics for purposes of networking, dissemination of information, and sharing practices. Ideally the coordinator will be technologically savvy and able to assist the organizations in delivering self-generated as well as collected content to interested members. The position requires excellent written and oral communication skills, advanced project management skills, and experience coordinating the efforts of a diverse group of volunteers. The scope of the work will require a 10 – 15 hour per week time commitment.
Parties should convey an expression of interest to Carol Starmack. Please include a curriculum vitae or résumé.
