July 23, 2012. As part of our mission, AMS advocates quality Montessori education. AMS-affiliated teacher education programs (TEPs) promote quality Montessori education by educating adult learners to become teachers and recommending their graduates to AMS for award of Montessori credentials.

Establishing an AMS Montessori teacher education program requires experience, dedication, commitment, and leadership. The process is challenging and includes the requirement of accreditation by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education. MACTE accreditation provides recognition by the U.S. Department of Education.

AMS and its Teacher Education Action Commission (TEAC) congratulate the following teacher education programs that were awarded AMS full-affiliate status for initial affiliation, renewal of affiliation, and additional locations in fiscal year 2012 (July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012). We also extend a warm welcome to the new directors /co-directors of established programs!
