October 28, 2012. With Hurricane Sandy closing in on the East Coast, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has ordered that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority shut down all subway, bus, and commuter rail service starting this evening, Sunday, October 28, and remain suspended until 12 hours after the storm. Given that AMS staff members commute to the office via the mass transit system, the AMS office will remain closed on Monday, October 29. A determination about the October 30 workday is still to be made.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

To those of you who are in the path of the storm, we urge you to take all precautions necessary so that you may remain safe, healthy, and comfortable.

To those who have met with tragedy or in any way suffered as a result of the hurricane, we extend our heartfelt sympathies.
