Bill and Judy ScheideWe are thrilled to share the news that AMS has received a major grant from The New York Community Trust (NYCT) to further the development of Montessori programs in public and charter schools nationwide.

The grant was made at the request of Bill and Judy McCartin Scheide, Princeton-area philanthropists and advisors for the Scheide Fund, which is managed by NYCT.

Thanks to Bill and Judy’s generosity, AMS will be able to take a leadership role in the critical effort to make quality Montessori education available for all children.

We are committed to ensuring that our efforts in the Montessori public school arena be both sustainable and inclusive. To this end, for the next 6 – 12 months we will be engaged in a careful, active planning phase that involves input from a broad spectrum of colleagues, including public education reformers, Montessori practitioners, and other educational advocates.
